Biography

Ebru is an English teacher with a creative approach, currently completing her Ph.D. at Trinity College Dublin, under the supervision of Dr Erika Piazzoli. Ebru’s study focuses on arts-based methods, particularly research-based theatre to investigate bilingual identity and emotions. Ebru holds a bachelor’s degrees in Business Management and English Language Teaching (ELT), as well as master’s degrees in ELT and Educational Psychology. 

Her research interests include applied linguistics, psycholinguistics, applied drama, acculturation, identity, and the emotional dimensions of language learning. These areas reflect an evolving academic journey shaped by a strong interest in the intersections between these areas. 

Over the years, she has facilitated drama projects in Türkiye, the UK, and Ireland, and to work as a research and teaching assistant at universities in both Türkiye and Ireland. Her current teaching role at a language centre in Dublin continues to inform her interest in integrating arts-based and interdisciplinary approaches into both research and classroom practice.
