The one-day event showcased innovative classroom strategies, curriculum developments and resources to support high-quality, inclusive lessons in Geography and Sustainability.
Programme highlights included:
- Enhancing teaching through displays – using visual environments to deepen geographical thinking.
- Working as a geographer in the new Leaving Certificate specification – new disciplinary approaches, in working as geographers
- Resources for teaching and learning sustainability – curated materials from an EU
- Teaching population geography – concepts, data and creative classroom activities.
PME students from Trinity presented on their school-based experiences of enabling students to think, work, and write geographically, showcasing innovative lesson designs, including enquiry and fieldwork pedagogies.
Throughout the workshops, tea breaks and lunch, participants exchanged classroom resources, discussed research-informed strategies and made new connections across schools and institutions.
