Energy Recovery

Staff in our Department are involved in a number of energy recovery projects, specifically focusing on improving the energy efficiency of the water sector.

To provide clean drinking water and treat wastewater effluent, the consumption of energy is required. As water and energy are interconnected, our research team is exploring this nexus to identify methods for improving energy efficiency through the development of energy recovery technologies (micro-hydropower and drain water heat recovery) and smart control systems.
