During the first few months of 2025, we have continued to grow our global connections and create exciting experiences for our students heading abroad, and for the students of universities around the world visiting Trinity College Dublin.

January 2025
International Winter School - we welcomed students from the University of Scranton to our International Winter School, where they were immersed in learning about nursing and healthcare in Ireland, and took part in cultural activities.
Erasmus - University of Malta Exchange

University of Sydney International Exchange - General Nursing Students, Ruth Little and Moya Flynn, secured School of Nursing and Midwifery scholarships to attend the University of Sydney and undertake an international clinical placement at the Royal North Shore Hospital, Sydney.

International Postgraduate Student Lunch - We hosted a lunch for our international students who are studying postgraduate programmes at the School of Nursing & Midwifery, to hear more about their experiences of studying at Trinity College Dublin.

March
THEConf - Prof Linda Wagner, Director of the School of Nursing at the University of Bridgeport and a wonderful group of students attended our annual conference, The Trinity Health and Education International Research Conference. It was also heartwarming to reconnect with nursing students Mary McCarthy and Ava Meglio from the University of Pittsburgh at the conference.

Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) programme - This programme run by Penn University offers students the chance to participate in various global experiences, through virtual connections and exchange with international communities, experts, and peers from March for 8 weeks (about 2 months). 19 SF and JS students enrolled in the programme this year.

New Collaboration - A new agreement of collaboration was reached with the University of Queensland.

Renewed collaborations - agreements of collaboration were renewed with the University of Pittsburgh, Taipei University, the University of Scranton and Duke University.

Visit from Lund University Delegation - We were delighted to welcome Anneli Sundberg, Annika Lundin de Albuquerque, Camilla Christensson and Jeanette Johansson from Lund University, Sweden, on their first visit to Trinity College Dublin. They also took the opportunity to visit our Clinical Skills Centre located at St James's Hospital Dublin and travelled to Tallaght University Hospital where they met with Nurse Practice Development Coordinators and CPCs.
