Alumni Career Mentoring Options

Mentoring is for all students and graduates interested in developing their career and network. Trinity targets undergraduate penultimate and final year students for specific mentoring and networking events to help them in their transition into the workplace. There are two ways to connect with current Trinity students.

Option 1 - Attend a Mentoring Launch Event for penultimate and final year students and start mentoring

Option 2 - Connect with all student and alumni mentees through Trinity Alumni Online and start mentoring.

Option 1 - Attend a Mentoring Launch Event for penultimate and final year students and start mentoring

Get an overview of how to make the most of mentoring at the Mentoring Briefing with Trinity Development and Alumni before each Mentoring Launch Event; understand the time commitment and what is expected of you and your mentee through the "How to" Guide for Mentors attending a Mentoring Launch Event. Mentees and mentors connect via Trinity Alumni Online.

Key dates for Alumni Mentors

September 2019
October 2019
  • Attend a half hour mentor briefing with TDA prior to the event.
  • Attend a Mentoring Launch Event.
  • Respond to Mentee requests via Trinity Alumni Online from October onwards.
October 2019
  • Mentoring starts when you secure a mentee from October onwards.
October 2019 to March 2020
  • Aim to meet with your mentee three times for approximately one hour each time. See Mentor Handbook
27 March 2020
  • Mentoring typically lasts five/six months.
  • Students who complete, sign and submit the Tracking My Mentoring Journey document to the Careers Service by a specified date in March will receive a Mentoring Certificate of Completion. As part of this process mentors need to discuss the document with the student mentee and co-sign it.
w/c 4 May 2020
  • Year-end reception for both mentors and mentees at which Mentoring Certificates of Completion are given to students.

Option 2 - Connect with all student and alumni mentees through Trinity Alumni Online and start mentoring.

Register with Trinity Alumni Online and connect with Trinity students and alumni. Respond to career related questions. If you are requested as a mentor please respond in a timely fashion.

Key dates: for Mentors of student mentees who wish to receive a Mentoring Certificate of Completion

September 2019 to March 2020
  • Register with Trinity Alumni Online.
  • Respond to Mentee requests via Trinity Alumni Online
  • Mentoring starts when you secure a mentee.

When you engage in mentoring through Trinity Alumni Online Mentoring you agree to the Mentor Guidelines and Mentor Agreement.
