Junior Sophister - Sociology and Social Policy

Students must take compulsory modules to a value of 30 ECTS and optional modules to a value of 30 ECTS.

  • Modules chosen in JS year will determine the range of modules available to you in SS year.
  • It is important to consider module prerequisites and programme requirements, which are outlined under each of the relevant years.
  • Students taking a year on Erasmus/Exchange must ensure that they are meeting programme requirements and module prerequisite while on exchange.  It is a requirement for students to take a module equivalent to SOU33011 and SOU33012: Researching Society 1 & 2 whilst on exchange. SOU33011 and SOU33012 are prerequisites for the compulsory Dissertation module in the final year.

Trinity Electives and Open Modules

Students must select 10 ECTS the list of Open Modules and Trinity Electives available to them within the online module enrollment system. You must select 5 ECTS in semester one and 5 ECTS in Semester 2. You must ensure that you meet the regulation of studying 20 ECTS of open modules and 10 ECTS of Trinity Electives accross your Senior Freshman and Junior Sophister year. Places in the modules are available on a first come first serve basis.
