Coursework and Attendance

In many subjects grades in assessment and essay work completed during the year are incorporated in varying ways into the overall annual examination mark. In other subjects this is not so, but students nonetheless may be required to attend classes and submit assessment work in these courses. A student is deemed non-satisfactory in a term when more than a third of required work/attendance in that term is missed. Any student who is deemed non-satisfactory in each of the first two terms may, in accordance with the regulations laid down by the University Council, be refused permission to take examinations in that year.
