Social Work
Social work programmes have been offered at Trinity College since 1934. Today, the School of Social Work and Social Policy offers two qualifying programmes for those interested in professional training in social work.

Social Policy
Social Policy has been taught at Trinity since the 1960s. Today, social policy staff teach on the BA in Sociology and Social Policy and other programmes and supervise post-graduate students.

Children's Research Centre
The Children's Research Centre, Trinity College Dublin, is a specialist centre focusing on specific areas of research and evaluation in the lives of children and young people. The Centre is part of the School of Psychology and the School of Social Work and Social Policy. The Children's Research Centre is a member of Childwatch International a nonprofit, nongovernmental network of institutions engaged in research for children.

National Institute for Intellectual Disability
The National Institute for Intellectual Disability is based at Trinity College and seeks to promote the inclusion of people with intellectual disability and their families. Formally established in 1998 and previously know as as The National Institute for the Study of Learning Difficulties (NISLD), the NIID works to ensure that the basic human rights of people with intellectual disability are upheld.

Social Policy and Ageing Research Centre
The Social Policy and Ageing Research Centre was established in 2005 in response to the need for IIndependent, comparative and policy-relevant research in the area of ageing and new researchers (PhD graduates) equipped to carry out above and to make a long-term contribution to improving the lives of older people in Ireland.

Policy Institute
The Policy Institute is a multi-disciplinary public policy research institute. Based in Trinity College, the Institute has close links with the School of Social Sciences and Philosophy , the School of Social Work and Social Policy, and the School of Business.
