The School is delighted to announce its sponsorship of HackEurope, a large-scale, student-led hackathon that celebrates ambition, creativity, and innovation.
This February, HackEurope will take place simultaneously across three locations; Trinity College Dublin, Stockholm, and Paris, connecting students across Europe in a shared, high-energy environment focused on collaboration, problem-solving, and rapid idea development. The event is delivered through a collaboration between HackIreland, Founders’ House in Sweden, and Unaite in France, bringing together leading student-led innovation communities from across Europe.
The event builds on the success of HackIreland, Ireland’s premier student hackathon. Originally launched as the student-led HackTrinity initiative at Trinity College Dublin, HackIreland has since scaled to a national platform. Last year, the hackathon attracted over 500 applications, with 150 of the country’s top student builders selected to take part in an intensive 30-hour event.
For HackEurope, HackIreland has joined forces with Founders’ House, Sweden’s largest start-up community and a central hub for Stockholm’s builder ecosystem which brings together ambitious founders, engineers, and investors through regular events and hackathons, as well as Unaite, France’s federation of eight leading AI university societies, uniting top student builders from institutions including École Polytechnique and CentraleSupélec.
The School is proud to support initiatives like HackEurope that are driven by students themselves. It is inspiring to see the ambition, leadership, and creativity of students in action, particularly as they take ownership of complex, large-scale events that extend beyond the classroom.
We are especially pleased to see students from the School of Computer Science and Statistics playing a significant role in the leadership and organisation of HackEurope, contributing directly to its vision and delivery.
The School looks forward to seeing how the event unfolds and to the creativity and innovation that will emerge over the course of the hackathon. We wish all of the SCSS students participating in HackEurope the very best of luck and are excited to see what they create.
