From Artificial Intelligence to Augmented Reality, from Cybersecurity to Internet of Things, Software Performance and more, the School of Computer Science and Statistics (SCSS) has an extensive range of expertise and knowledge to offer in the ICT domain. We are committed to developing research partnerships that enable businesses small or large to benefit from the world leading research and infrastructure within the School.

SCSS has a strong track record of collaborating with industry through a wide array of schemes available from national and international funding bodies.

  • Science Foundation Ireland has a number of programmes that can fund academia-industry collaboration via, for example, establishing strategic partnerships or developing National Centres or Spokes. SCSS hosts three Spokes programmes that focus on developing digital technologies in areas of societal and economic importance to Ireland. The School also leads on/is involved in SFI Research Centres ADAPT, CONNECT and LERO.
  • Enterprise Ireland’s Innovation Partnership Programme and Innovation Vouchers offer exchequer funding support to carry out R,D&I projects or explore business opportunities in collaboration with SCSS researchers.
  • The Irish Research Council has funding schemes which enable industry to co-sponsor both PhD studentships and post-doctoral fellows.
  • The European Union has a number of funding programmes which enable industry to undertake collaborative research with SCSS researchers.
