Giovanni Di Liberto, Assistant Professor in Intelligent Systems at the School of Computer Science and Statistics, is among the recepients of the Trinity College Dublin Award for Excellence in Supervision of Research Students.
The award recognises supervisors who support their students’ academic progress and wellbeing throughout their postgraduate research. It acknowledges the guidance and care that help students develop as researchers, alongside the support they receive in navigating the challenges of a research degree.
A student paid tribute to Giovanni’s approach to supervision:
“Prof Giovanni Di Liberto is so deserving of this award as he imparts his scientific enthusiasm and care unconditionally and has expanded to such a sizeable and successful team in the short time he's been a PI!”
Giovanni’s research brings together computer science and neuroscience to explore how the human brain processes speech and music. He supervises a multidisciplinary research team, applying computational methods to better understand human communication.
The School warmly congratulates Giovanni on the award and celebrates his contribution to the experience and development of our research students.
