Led jointly with Prof. Niamh Moore-Cherry of University College Dublin, the interdisciplinary research team also worked closely with Societal Impact Champion Kieran Harrahill from TASC: Think-tank for Action on Social Change. The project was awarded runner-up status in the Research Ireland funded Challenge, securing funding to scale its approach to public engagement in transport planning across Ireland.

CONUNDRUM focuses on enabling citizens to take an active role in shaping transport infrastructure as Ireland works towards reducing transport-related carbon emissions. The funding will allow the team to support more communities in adopting low-carbon transport solutions, particularly in rural contexts where transport choices are often limited and change can have a significant social impact.
