Welcome to the School of Social Sciences and Philosophy Research Ethics page

Applications to the School's Research Ethics Committee are now processed through the Research Ethics Application Management system (REAMS). REAMs is a new platform developed for processing research ethics applications. See below for instructions on how to use this platform.

If ethics approval is required, the process is as follows

Faculty and PhD Students:
All academic staff and PhD students are automatically registered to use the REAMs platform,
external reviewers or professional staff who support a REC should contact the system administrator at office.dean.res@tcd.ie to register

MSc and Undergraduate Capstone students:
Undergraduate and Postgraduate MSc students must speak to their supervisor for guidance on the Department system in use outside of the REAMs system.

Help text boxes pop up as you go through the application providing links to more information in a comprehensive guidance document which is navigable by contents headings or key words to help you complete your application.
