The School of Social Sciences and Philosophy was very proud to be awarded an Athena SWAN Bronze award in 2021 in recognition of its commitment to gender equality in Higher Education.
The Athena SWAN (Scientific Women’s Academic Network) Charter is an international framework which is used to support and transform gender equality within higher education and research.
The Athena SWAN award demonstrates that the School has an evidence-based Action Plan to address barriers to gender equality and to develop inclusive practices.

The EDI Committee Terms of Reference (ToR), which was approved by the School Executive Committee on September 13th, 2021 can be found at this link. The Director and the Committee work with the School Executive Committee promote equality, diversity and inclusion across all of the activities in the School.
