The School of Computer Science and Statistics (SCSS) invites applications for the position of School Manager. The School Manager is responsible for the provision and management of a high-quality, responsive administrative service to support a diverse portfolio of School activities. The role is directly responsible for ensuring all School administrative processes and systems effectively facilitate strategic and budgetary planning; academic administration and curricula development; enhancing research funding opportunities; staff recruitment and management; and the implementation of, and adherence to, School and College policies and strategies. The School Manager provides strong and positive leadership for the administrative staff team.
The SCSS School Manager supports and works closely with the Head of School and School Directors and is a member of the School Directors’ Group contributing to the development and implementation of the strategic objectives of the School. The School Manager is also a key member of the School Executive and an experienced point of reference for both the professional and academic staff in the School. The School Manager reports to the Head of School.

The School of Computer Science and Statistics is seeking to appoint an Assistant Professor in Statistics, who will join the Discipline of Statistics and Information Systems.
The Assistant Professor will be a full faculty member, and as such will be expected to innovate in both research and teaching, to assist in the administration and mission of the School and contribute to the wider research community. The appointee should have the potential to develop into a leader in their particular field of research with a world-class research programme. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to undergraduate and/or postgraduate teaching in the School, particularly in areas of Statistics and Information Systems.
The successful candidate will be an excellent researcher and lecturer with a strong international research track record and clear potential for research leadership. They should have a strong commitment to research-led undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and a demonstrated capacity/potential to attract research funding and develop a world-class research programme.
Applications are encouraged from candidates in the field of Statistics with a strong statistical learning component, and a genuine commitment to the role of teaching Statistics at undergraduate and postgraduate level across many disciplines in Mathematics, Science, Engineering and the Humanities. The successful applicant will have a primary degree and a Ph.D. in Statistics or another subject with a strong statistical component. The group particularly welcomes applicants who have experience and interest in working in an interdisciplinary setting, and most notably individuals who have a sound theoretical base with interests in research questions that can exploit the Discipline's position within a School of Computer Science and Statistics.

Research Opportunities
We are seeking to recruit a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to work on our groundbreaking content licensing system, utilising your expertise in machine learning to enhance copyright protection and streamline the licensing process. We require a solutions-focused person that can deliver a high-valuable impact to the project through the implementation of technical solutions to the project goals, in particular to develop an Artificial Intelligence (AI) ‘digital agent’ to assist those who licence (buy) content and those who licence (sell) content online.
The successful candidate must hold a PhD in Computer Science or a related field, and possess a strong background in machine learning, deep learning, statistical analysis, knowledge representation and analysis of data structures. They will be joining a group that includes Dr. Carl Vogel as research leader, Stephen Conmy as Commercial manager, and Aiden Murray as Product manager and systems engineer, to together develop a prototype architecture that exploits the knowledge it captures.

We are seeking to recruit a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to investigate the use of deep reinforcement learning (RL) and swarm intelligence techniques to optimize urban and highway traffic in the presence of autonomous and conventional vehicles within the ClearWay project funded by Science Foundation Ireland from 2022-2026.
The successful candidate must have a PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related field. The post is applicable to both new and experienced PhD holders, and salary will be commensurate with experience and achievement. The successful candidate will join an inter-disciplinary team of highly-skilled and innovative researchers in the areas of RL and intelligent mobility.
