Professor in Political Science, Raj Chari Launches New Report on Irish Government's TransparencyProf Chari was chosen as an independent researcher, by Open Government Partnership, to evaluate the Irish Government's progress on its Action Plan 2016-18. His report shows no progress in anti-corruption measures but finds significant progress in governance of charities.

Professor Eleanor Denny appointed by the Taoiseach to the National Economic and Social CouncilProfessor Eleanor Denny has been appointed by the Taoiseach as an independent member of the National Economic and Social Council (NESC). NESC advises the Taoiseach and Government on strategic policy issues relating to sustainable economic, social and environmental development in Ireland.

The Summer School saw participants from a variety of backgrounds participate in four days of training in quantitative and qualitative analysis.

TIME link up with LSE & the CEPR to host a workshop in Development EconomicsThe first Workshop in Development Economics, in collaboration with the LSE and the CEPR, and funded by Irish Aid, took place on the 18th and 19th of September in Trinity College Dublin. The workshop featured presentations on numerous topics in development economics including investment, productivity and agriculture with scholars from leading universities and institutions across the globe.

Development Economist Alejandra Ramos Joins Trinity's Economics DepartmentAlejandra Ramos is an applied micro-economist with a focus on economic development. Her research interests are Family Economics, Education, and Labour. She is currently working on intimate partner violence, looking at how perpetrators use violence to alter the balance of power in the couple, and how this affects the household's response to transfer programs in Ecuador.
