Department of Economics

• Dr Jian Cao's research spans computational economics, data science & empirical industrial organisation.
• Dr Gustav Fredriksson works on issues related to environmental and labour economics.
• Dr Yuen Ho is a development & behavioural economist who uses field & natural experiments to study the interplay between economics and psychology.

Department of Philosophy

• Dr Ashley Shaw's research centres on mind & action, with current work on desire & rational agency & further interests in need, habit & self-control.
• Dr Rossella De Bernardi's research is on “Emotions and Injustice. An Egalitarian Theory of Affective Rights and Wrongs”.

Department of Political Science

• Dr Asli Ceren Cinar's research examines how political communication and candidate traits influence political behaviour.
• Dr Alan Duggan's research is on political communicaion.
• Dr Giovanni Parente's research areas include maritime security, European Union foreign policy, and the Common Security and Defence Policy.
• Dr Heidi Riley's Her research focuses on gender and armed conflict, with a particular focus on the interaction between ideology and masculinity within non-state armed groups, and the implications of this for women during and after conflict.

Department of Sociology

• Dr Joonghyun Kwak's research focuses on globalisation, sustainable development and social inequality.
• Dr Larissa Meier's research explores contemporary political conflicts, with a particular focus on social movements, political violence, and civil resistance.
