Trinity celebrates LGBTIQ+ Pride! Pride at Trinity is a keystone of the campus calendar - an opportunity to celebrate the LGBTIQ+ people in our community and reaffirm our commitment to ensuring an inclusive, safe, and diverse environment where everyone can thrive.
Pride promotes the self-affirmation, dignity, visibility, and equity of the community of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, asexual, and other diverse gender and sexual identities.
Trinity has a strong commitment to queer pride and protest traced back to the formation of the original gay advocacy group the Sexual Liberation Movement which started with a meeting on Trinity campus in 1973.
The Dublin LGBTQ+ Pride Festival runs from 24th to 28th June and with the theme of "ONE STORY – MANY VOICES - Your voice matters. Our story matters. Together, we create something none of us could hold alone."
LGBTIQ+ Pride at Trinity is a collaborative effort between different groups on campus including:
- Q Soc - Trinity's LGBTQ+ student society (and the oldest in the country!)
- Trinity's LGBTIQ+ Staff Network
- Campus student services who promote and participate in pride celebrations, including the EDI Office, Trinity Global, Trinity Research, Trinity Sport, and the Office of the Provost
