On Thursday 12th February the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion team hosted a landmark event at Trinity, Thriving at Trinity: Celebrating EDI in Our Community where we were delighted to have the opportunity to recognise and celebrate the people, practices, and partnerships that are helping to make Trinity a more equitable, diverse, and inclusive place to work, study, and belong.
This gathering brought together key people involved in a wide range of EDI initiatives taking place across our community - from student/staff-led projects supported by the EDI Fund to institutional programmes including Athena Swan awardees - and it offered an opportunity to connect with others who are committed to fostering inclusion, respect, and a sense of belonging at Trinity.
The event opened with an address from Provost Linda Doyle followed by Associate Vice Provost for EDI, Lorraine Leeson who acknowledged contributions highlighting impactful EDI work across the University.
Three Athena Swan awards were presented to the School of Languages, Literatures and Cultural Studies (Bronze); School of Histories and Humanities (Bronze) and School of Engineering (Bronze renewal).
