Trinity’s Mail Room wins Diamond Award for Excellent Service

Trinity’s Mail Room has been presented with a Diamond Award Certificate by Postal and Logistics Consulting World Wide (PLCWW) for the delivery of effective and efficient mailroom management. This is the first time a Mail Room has been awarded Gold, Platinum and Diamond in three successive audits.

The Mail Room Team, Peter Blanchfield, William Richardson, James Marrinan and Fernando Inniss, were presented with their Diamond Certificate by PLCWW’s Chief Executive, Steve Hannon who travelled from England for the occasion.

Congratulating the team, Trinity’s Head of Facilities and Services, Brendan Leahy said “This Diamond Certificate is testament to the extremely high professional standard of the Mail Room’s service. The dedication of each team member is truly remarkable as is evidenced by the fact this they made history in being the first Mail room to have been awarded Gold, Platinum and Diamond in three audits back to back”.

The PLCWW Mail Room evaluation covered the following 14 areas: internal conditions, layout, mail flow, equipment, inward sorting, delivery/collections, outward sorting, operators, staff performance, management controls, health and safety, security, ecological factors and operational methodology. Audits are conducted for universities, local authorities, international organisations, health trusts and, Government Departments.

Trinity is the only university mail service in Ireland to achieve these standards.
