Trinity Win Over Oxford Blues at 2008 Regatta

Dublin University Boat Club defeated Oxford ‘s Blue Boat at the 110th Trinity College Regatta on April 26 last.

The Oxford Blue Boat, containing four of the 2008 Boat Race winners and four of the Isis Boat Race winners was evenly matched by Trinity’s Black and White boat. Both crews were well prepared and fully focused on the prize to be DUCAC Oxford University vs Dublin University Varsity Boat Race 2008 winners. The race was close to the finish but Trinity took the lead in the final stage and won the race by a third of a length.

The Ladies Senior and Novice crews and the Mens Novice crew also made this year’s regatta one of Trinity’s finest rowing performances each winning in their respective categories. Trinity’s senior squad will now prepare for the Belgium National Championships and Ghent International Regatta in Ghent on the 10th and 11th of May.
