The 2013 Intel Women in Technology scholars studying in Trinity are Ciara Maguire from Tipperary, Eleanor McSweeney from Dublin and Alison Hennessy from Cork. The other scholars are University College Dublin students Romy Lynch and Claire Pentony.

The five female students who have just began studying Science or Engineering courses were selected as the recipients of the scholarships.

The scholarship programme aims to encourage a new generation of high-achieving women to take up the challenge of a career in science and technology. Now in its second year, the programme forms part of a wider focus by Intel on empowering girls and women by fostering educational opportunities and encouraging females to participate, prosper, and lead in the global economy.
