Posted on: 07 April 2016

The 150th anniversary of the first Trinity Regatta will take place at Islandbridge on Saturday April 16th 2016. The event, which is held jointly by Dublin University Boat Club (DUBC) and Dublin University Ladies Boat Club (DULBC), is one of the most important sporting events in the Trinity sporting calendar and has been held every year since 1866, with the exception of during the First World War.

The Trinity Regatta features competing clubs and universities from all over Ireland and promises to be a day of exciting entertainment for the 100s of spectators expected to attend. With crews entered at novice, intermediate and senior level, the Trinity crews will hope to continue their recent success by securing the prestigious trophies on offer. In celebration of the Sesquicentenary anniversary of the first Trinity Regatta, a prize of €500 will be awarded to the winning club of the Men's Senior 8 event, and also to the winning club of the Women's Senior 8 event.
