Trinity College Medical Students Seek Public Support for Med Day 2014

Posted on: 31 October 2014

On Friday 7th November, over 700 Trinity College medical students will take to the streets of Dublin to help raise much-needed funds for two deserving causes – Palliative Care Services and Infectious Diseases: The discovery & Treatment of Superbugs, both based in St James’s Hospital.

Trinity Med Day is an annual one-day fundraising event to raise money for worthy healthcare projects, organised by Trinity 4th year Medical Students. Now in its 14th year, Trinity Med Day has raised over €500,000 to date for vital local health services.

They are also supporting Advances in the Early Detection of Prostate Cancer, Novel Targeted Therapy for Inflammatory Bowel Disease and Trinity Access Programme.

The students hope to raise €50,000 through street collections, busking, bake sales around campus, a raffle, and their infamous Talent Show and Auction. Watch out for their burgundy t-shirts around campus and the city and be sure to support!
