The Irish Research Staff Association Launched

The Irish Research Staff Association (IRSA) an umbrella organisation  for the research staff associations of the country’s academic institutions, including the Trinity Research Staff Association,  was officially launched by the Minister for Science, Technology and Innovation, Dr Jimmy Devins, on October 28th last  in the Royal Irish Academy.  Dr Conor O’ Carroll, Director of Research at the Irish Universities Association and  Martin Hynes, Executive Director of the  Irish Research Council for Science, Engineering & Technology (IRCSET) also spoke at the launch about issues affecting researchers.
The IRSA aims to provide a voice for contract research staff. It hopes to engage with government bodies, funding agencies, professional organisations and other relevant parties to campaign for improvements in policies affecting research staff.
