TCD Careers Week – 15 to 19 October 2007

Posted on: 12 October 2007

The third annual TCD Careers Week runs this week from Monday 15 to Friday 19 October. Organised by the Careers Advisory Service and supported by the Students’ Union and College societies, there is something for everyone in the 2007 programme from media, film, pharmaceutical, IT, NGOs, public service, to museums, teaching, accountancy, law, publishing.

The comprehensive programme includes advice from graduates as part of various career sector talks, employer and careers adviser facilitated workshops to develop application and interview skills, and the Graduate Employer Fair which will be in the RDS on Tuesday 16th October.

“Trinity students have a wide variety of careers open to them, both in Ireland and internationally and there are no single pathways to career success,” stated Sean Gannon, Director of the Careers Advisory Service. “TCD Careers Week aims to address the diverse opportunities available to students including information and advice on a broad spectrum of careers”.

In particular, the Career Sector talks by alumni and industry specialists give students an insight into the career paths of TCD graduates and an overview of different sectors from various professional organisations. Among this year’s speakers are film director and producer, Andrew Lowe of Element Pictures, producers of the RTE Series Prosperity and recently release film Garage and TCD Entrepreneur and former winner of the TCD/Bank of Ireland Business Student of the Year, Alan Foy.
