Provost Linda Doyle elected as new board member of the League of European Research Universities

With Professor Karen Maex stepping down as Rector Magnificus of the University of Amsterdam in July 2022, League League of European Research Universities (LERU) has had to elect a new Board Member and a new Chair.

The LERU Rectors elected Dr Linda Doyle as the new Board Member. Dr Doyle has been Provost of Trinity College Dublin since August 2021. Prior to her election as Provost, she was Professor of Engineering and the Arts at Trinity College Dublin and held the role of Dean of Research from 2018 to 2020. She joins Prof. Yves Flückiger of Université de Genève and Prof. Bernhard Eitel of Universität Heidelberg in the LERU Board of Directors.

From this newly composed Board of Directors, the Rectors have elected Prof. Yves Flückiger as the new Chair of LERU. Prof Flückiger has been Rector of the Université de Genève since July 2015 and the President of swissuniversities since February 2020. He has been a LERU Board Member since November 2020.
