Over Four Hundred Students Receive Trinity High Achiever Award

A total of 422 first year students have been awarded special Entrance Exhibitioners Awards from Trinity College Dublin. The students receiving awards each achieved 560 points or higher (2 A1s and 4 A2s in the Leaving Certificate examination equate to a grade point score of 560, excluding bonus points) in their Leaving Certificate examination (or equivalent second level examination). The students represent 30 counties in Ireland together with candidates from the U.K., France, Switzerland, Italy, Belgium, Norway, Austria, Germany, Luxembourg and Spain.

Congratulating the students on their achievement at a ceremony to mark the occasion, the Dean of Undergraduate Students, Associate Professor Gillian Martin said: "These awards reflect the exceptional ability and hard work of students who have achieved 560 points (excluding bonus points) in the Leaving Certificate or equivalent.

The students will continue their education across the University’s three faculties with 35% choosing Health Sciences, 22% selecting the Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences,  33% choosing  Engineering, Mathematics & Science, with the remaining 10% taking multi-faculty degree options.
