New School of Pharmacy Lectureship

The international pharmaceutical company  Merrion Pharmaceuticals plc has entered a   sponsorship agreement with Trinity College Dublin in relation to a new lectureship to the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences for a three year period. The lecturer will be primarily devoted to research whilst also conducting some lecturing duties.

The newly appointed lecturer will develop a biopharmaceutics research team  which will focus on the formulation of lipid based drug delivery systems, novel absorption enhancers and  lipid based enhancers.

“We are delighted to have established The Merrion Lectureship with Trinity College’s School of Pharmacy, known for their extensive research expertise in the area of drug delivery technology and systems”, said John Lynch COO of Merrion. “The research will allow for further development of novel drug delivery systems.”

Commenting on the significance of the agreement, Dr Anne Marie Healy of The School of Pharmacy said: “We are excited to enter into further research collaborations with Merrion Pharmaceuticals; it provides mutually beneficial opportunities for both Trinity College  and Merrion which enhances our research interests substantially.”
