David Norris, Ivana Bacik and Lynn Ruane re-elected to the Seanad

Three incumbent Senators in the University of Dublin constituency (David Norris, Ivana Bacik and Lynn Ruane) have been re-elected to the Seanad. A total of eight counts were completed on the Trinity College campus.

The result of the election in the three-seat constituency was as follows:

David Norris: 3,768 votes, 4th count

Ivana Bacik: 3,963 votes, 6th count

Lynn Ruane: 4,072 votes, 8th count

The total valid poll was 15,041 and the quota was 3,761 votes.

David Norris was first elected a Senator in 1987. Ivana Bacik was first elected in 2007 while Lynn Ruane won her Seanad seat in 2016.

A total of 10 candidates stood for election in the University of Dublin constituency. The count took place in the Dargan lecture theatre of Trinity Business School to accommodate social distancing practices.
