A total of 597 first-year students have been awarded special ‘Entrance Exhibition Awards’ at Trinity College. The students receiving awards each achieved 545 points or higher (more than 6 A2 grades) in their Leaving Certificate examination (or equivalent second level examination). The students represent 277 schools from 32 counties as well as from other EU schools.

Congratulating the students on their achievement at a ceremony to mark the occasion, Provost of Trinity College, Dr John Hegarty stated “545 points in the Leaving Certificate or equivalent reflects the remarkable ability of these students and their commitment to hard work. Of a total of 55,000 CAO candidates this year, 1744 achieved 545 points or more and we are delighted that 34% of these exceptional students have joined us at Trinity College.”
