The School of Social Sciences and Philosophy is committed to the highest standards of research ethics. All ethics applications are processed through the Research Ethics Application Management System (REAMS), a dedicated platform developed to streamline the approvals process.
Submitting an Application
The process for seeking ethics approval depends on your role:
Faculty and PhD Students
All academic staff and PhD students are automatically registered on REAMS. External reviewers or professional staff supporting a Research Ethics Committee should contact the system administrator at office.dean.res@tcd.ie to register.
MSc and Undergraduate Capstone Students
Undergraduate and postgraduate MSc students should speak to their supervisor in the first instance for guidance on the ethics process applicable to their department.
Once you begin your application, help text boxes throughout the platform link to a comprehensive guidance document, searchable by contents or keywords.
