Policies

Equality, diversity and inclusion in the School is guided by Trinity’s University-wide policies, covering areas such as leave, dignity and respect, and equality. The School has also developed its own policies to address the specific needs of its staff and students. Both are gathered here in one place.

University policies

Trinity’s University-wide HR policies and procedures apply to all staff and students in the School. They cover areas including leave entitlements, carers’ leave, breastfeeding support, dignity and respect, gender identity and expression, and the University’s Equality Policy.

School policies

The School’s EDI policies are developed by the School EDI team and approved by the School Executive Committee. They work alongside University policies and statutory entitlements, and do not replace them.

Pre- and Post-Leave Meeting Policy

The Pre- and Post-Leave Meeting Policy sets out the School’s formal commitments. It explains who the policy applies to, what staff can expect, and what line managers are responsible for, from arranging meetings to respecting agreed communication boundaries during leave.

The Process and Templates document is the practical companion to the policy. It guides managers and staff through each stage, with suggested agendas for the pre-leave and post-leave meetings, guidance on keep-in-touch days, and a template to complete and sign at each step.
