Careers and Destinations
PPES graduates are highly sought after by employers across a wide range of sectors. The combination of critical thinking, analytical rigour and multidisciplinary perspective that the programme develops opens doors across public life, business, academia and beyond, in Ireland and internationally.
Graduate outcomes
The vast majority of PPES graduates move into employment or further study within months of completing the programme. The degree is particularly valued in fields where analytical thinking and an understanding of political, economic and social systems matter, including management, journalism, international affairs, public policy and public service.

Postgraduate study
Many PPES graduates go on to postgraduate study at Trinity and at leading universities around the world, including University College London, the University of Edinburgh and the College of Europe. For information on postgraduate programmes available within the School of Social Sciences and Philosophy, visit the relevant programme pages.
Skills and graduate attributes
PPES develops the four Trinity Graduate Attributes: to think independently, to act responsibly, to develop continuously, and to communicate effectively. These are built through the curriculum, through group work and presentations, and through co-curricular activities, and they are precisely the qualities that employers consistently seek.
