The Disciplines
PPES draws on four distinct academic disciplines: Philosophy, Political Science, Economics and Sociology. In your first year you study all four, building a foundation that is broader than almost any other undergraduate degree in Ireland. From second year, you begin to focus on the combination that suits you best. Each of the four disciplines that make up PPES has its own dedicated department within the School, with full information on research, staff and programme details.
