It flickers, then it tips – study identifies early warning signals for the end of the African Humid Period
A newly published study shows that at the end of the African Humid Period (AHP) intense dry and wet events alternated – or “flickered” – regularly over a period of around 1,000 years before a dry climate prevailed around 6,000 years ago.
