Short films about ageing with an intellectual disability bring research to life
The research team from the intellectual disability supplement to the Irish Longitudinal study on Ageing (IDS-TILDA) has solved just that with the production of a series of short films featuring people with an intellectual disability, specifically designed for people with ID. The films depict research findings on the complex and unique health and social challenges facing Ireland’s population who are ageing with an intellectual disability through the lens of those who directly experience them.

Study finds new cardiovascular predictor of mortality in older people
When we stand up our heart rate speeds up then settles. The rate at which this happens in older people has been shown for the first time to predict mortality four years later according to new research from TILDA published in Circulation Research, a leading journal of the American Heart Association.

Lara Connaughton is the first Irish recipient of a Schwarzman Scholarship in Tsinghua University, Beijing. Lara specialised in Business and Economics in her final year and has just graduated with a first class honors degree.
