Trinity’s Mail Room Receives Platinum Award for Excellent Service

Posted on: 22 March 2016

Trinity College Dublin’s Mail Room has been presented with a Platinum Award Certificate by Postal and Logistics Consulting World Wide (PLCWW) for the delivery of effective and efficient mailroom management.

Following an audit by PLCWW in early 2015 Trinity’s Mail Room Team, Peter Blanchfield, William Richardson, James Marrinan and Fernando Inniss, were awarded the Gold Certificate. In November 2015 the service was the subject of a second audit, and having implemented the recommendations issued by the auditor following the award of the Gold certificate the team has now achieved the Platinum Certificate. Trinity is the only university mail service in Ireland to achieve these standards.

To mark the high professional standard of the Mail Room’s service, Chair of PLCWW and a former MD of Royal mail, Jerry Cope, travelled from England to present the Mail Room Team with their Platinum certificate on campus on 7 March.

Trinity’s Mail Room Team plan on ‘going for diamond’ (the highest award) in September 2016, and if they achieve that standard they will be the first Mail Room to achieve gold, platinum and diamond within three years.
