Dr Patrick Prendergast commented: “Trinity is looking at how we can improve what and how we teach. This is good for students but it is also good for the rest of society and, of course, employers. As part of a much broader listening process we want to hear what employers want and what employers need from a graduate in the 21st century. "

The meeting was designed to enable employers to explain what skills they value in graduates and how they assess potential in new graduates for more senior roles in the future. Trinity’s most senior academic was also keen learn what new career pathways they see emerging in the future. The Provost also asked business leaders to identify what they considered to be distinctive about Trinity graduates.

The Trinity Education Project is a university-wide initiative which aims to improve the quality of education received at Trinity across all undergraduate programmes and to equip graduates for the industries of the future.

The project also aims to enhance Trinity’s reputation as a university of global consequence, deliver a distinct student experience, promote life-long learning and foster a sense of global citizenship among graduates.
