Over 400 Graduates Return to Trinity for the Annual Alumni Weekend

Posted on: 29 August 2014

Over 400 alumni and friends, from the early 2000s to as far back as the 1950s, gathered last weekend at the 2014 Trinity Alumni Weekend.  The graduates once again walked across the cobbles of Front Square and had a chance to relive old Trinity memories as well as creating new ones.

Highlights from the action packed programme included a marquee on Library Square beside the Campanile for alumni to meet new friends and catch up with old ones; a Welcome Reception Lunch; walking tours of Trinity’s campus; black tie reunion banquets; tours of the Book of Kells and the exhibitions in the Long Room; a lecture on ‘Happiness, Friendship & Health’ delivered by Rose Anne Kenny, Professor of Geriatric Medicine, Trinity and Principal Investigator, TILDA; and tours of Science Gallery and Trinity’s Zoological Museum.

Commenting on the reunion, Trinity’s Alumni Director John Dillon said: “Thank you to everyone who travelled, from near and far, back to Trinity to make the weekend such a success. Trinity’s alumni network is a valuable part of the Trinity community. This event is just one of the many ways for alumni to stay connected to the College and we were delighted to see so many graduates back on campus”.
