Film-maker David Lynch and singer Donovan Visit TCD

The internationally acclaimed film director, David Lynch and singer/songwriter Donovan attracted large crowds of almost 600 students and members of the public at the event hosted by the School of Drama , Film and Music last weekend.

Lynch who has directed films such as Eraserhead, Elephant Man,  Blue Velvet, Twin Peaks, and the recent Inland Empire is also the author of Catching the Big Fish: Meditation, Consciousness, and Creativity and the inspiration behind the David Lynch Foundation which is bringing stress-reducing meditation to at-risk children and teenagers.   

David Lynch took questions from the floor on his films, the David Lynch  Foundation and his involvement in Transcendental Meditation. As part of the event, singer/songwriter Donovan   also performed a live concert of his hits from the 1960s and 1970s concluding the concert with a special request from Lynch himself to sing his favourite song The Season of the Witch.
