CHARM-EU conference looks at European universities’ cooperation: towards sustainable transdisciplinary partnerships

Cooperation in higher education is becoming increasingly relevant to enhance sustainable innovation, digital transformation, citizens’ well-being, equitable and inclusive societies and economic development.

The annual CHARM-EU conference, taking place on Thursday 13 January 2022 from 9.30am – 3pm (CET), will provide a platform to strengthen strategic partnerships between higher education institutions across the EU. It will focus on the innovation and trends in higher education and how European University Alliances deliver a contribution in this development helping to meet societal challenges in a just and inclusive way.

With the theme ‘European Universities’ cooperation: towards sustainable transdisciplinary partnerships’, the conference programme consists of three plenary sessions:

  1. Innovation and trends in HE: setting the framework and looking forward.
  2. European universities and current developments in HE: an introduction to the thematic sessions (Education, Institutional Innovation, Governance, Digitalisation and Student perspective)
  3. Advancing education for sustainable development

 

Doris Alexander, Trinity’s Associate Director of European Engagement will be a keynote speaker in session 2.

In addition, there will be thematic break-out sessions on the following six themes: education; institutional innovation; governance; digitalisation; expanded network and student perspective

An online cultural event, organised by Utrecht University which is co-ordinating the virtual conference, is also part of the programme.

The CHARM-EU Alliance consists of Trinity College Dublin, University of Barcelona, University of Montpellier, Utrecht University and Eötvös Loránd University Budapest.
