Over 1,000 delegates will next week (Thursday 16th April) engage with a vibrant series of events celebrating European Supply Chain Day at an online conference hosted by E3 at Trinity College Dublin.
The event, which spearheads Ireland’s 4th Logistics and Supply Chain Skills Week, brings together researchers, students, industry leaders, educators, and innovators to spotlight the exciting career pathways shaping the future of logistics and supply chain management.
It also showcases Ireland’s research impact and growing leadership in green transformation, digital innovation, and the development of sustainable, resilient supply chains that can compete on a global stage.
Michael Lynham, E3 Marketing Manager at Trinity, and FCILT (Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport), said: “More than 80% of global companies’ emissions sit within supply chains, making them one of the most powerful levers for climate action. In Ireland alone, the logistics and supply chain sector employs over 246,000 people and underpins more than €1 trillion in trade, highlighting its critical role not just in sustainability, but in economic growth.
“This conference shines a spotlight on how innovation, resilience, and digital transformation can position Ireland at the forefront of building greener, future-ready global supply networks.”
Opening the conference is Seán Canney, Minister of State at the Department of Transport. Other speakers include Trinity Professors Brian Caulfield and John Gallagher, School of Engineering; Dr Susana Val, Deputy Director, Research Institute ZLC and Associate Research Professor; Prof. Gemma Berenguer, Associate Professor at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid; and Darragh McCarthy, Director – Supply Chain, Science & Engineering, Morgan McKinley.
