Starting in January 2026, the Associate Dean of Graduate Studies will provide enhanced supports for postgraduate taught courses, ensuring Trinity delivers on its taught postgraduate commitments to designing for the future of teaching and lifelong learning, expanding partnerships and creating new pathways.

The past five years have seen significant development and growth in Trinity’s taught postgraduate activities within an increasingly complex global landscape. Many of these advancements were delivered through the Postgraduate Renewal Programme. Others arose through the HCI initiative, which enabled the approval of multiple new programmes, the creation of Microcredentials and the transformation of policies, procedures, and resources for Recognition of Prior Learning to enhance access to postgraduate programmes.

During this period, applications and registrations to taught postgraduate programmes have risen significantly, by 77.6% and 38.2% respectively.

Prof Rivkin has significant experience of working on postgraduate-related issues, including most recently as the Director of Postgraduate Teaching and Learning for the Trinity Business School.

Welcoming the announcement, Prof Martine Smith, Dean of Graduate Studies said: “I am delighted that our strategic ambition for an Associate Dean of Graduate Studies to support the ongoing dynamic evolution of all things postgraduate has come to fruition. Wlad has a wealth of knowledge in this field, and I look forward to working with him to further enhance the postgraduate experience in Trinity”.
