Posted on: 12 November 2025

Three researchers from Trinity, Profs. Valeria Nicolosi, Alan Irvine MD DSc, and Jonathan Coleman featured today in the Clarivate Highly Cited Researchers 2025 List.

This annual list recognises individuals whose contributions have demonstrated broad and significant influence in their fields.

The rigorous evaluation and selection process draws on data from the Web of Science, and uses quantitative and qualitative analyses to identify researchers whose work has had a genuine, global impact.

Prof. Nicolosi said: “It’s a great honour to receive this very prestigious recognition for the seventh year in a row. This achievement is truly a reflection of the hard and wonderful work of my research group — past and present — and it is with them that I share this recognition. Their dedication, creativity, and excellence continue to inspire me every day."

Prof. Nicolosi, picture above, adds: "I also want to acknowledge the many outstanding collaborators I’ve had the privilege to work with over the years.”

Prof. Irvine said: "It is very rewarding to have this work recognised. It’s the sum of 30 years of collaborative work that has required the generosity of tens of thousands of patients, hundreds of brilliant scientific collaborators, and tens of millions in funding from charitable and government bodies."
