Feeding Ourselves Local Food Symposium
How can we better support local food producers and nourish communities through stronger local food economies in Ireland?
The Feeding Ourselves Network's Local Food Symposium was hosted in October 2025 in Trinity and asked exactly that question.
Trinity speakers included Dr. Rupa Marya, recently appointed as an adjunct professor of Land, Food, Medicine in the School of Medicine and Prof. Colin Doherty, Head of the School of Medicine. They were joined by contributors as diverse as farmers, community food growers, researchers, county council staff, NGOs, bio-district co-ordinators, public procurement staff and more. Trinity researchers from Medicine, Botany, Geography and Business attended and contributed.
In the evening, Deep Medicine Circle’s Farming is Medicine movie featuring Dr. Rupa Marya was screened and the group shared a plant based meal.
