Budget 2023: €1,000 Government contribution
The Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science - Simon Harris and Minister of State for Skills - Niall Collins recently outlined a once-off €1,000 initiative towards the student contribution fee in this academic year, for higher education students eligible for the free fees initiative.
Details of this once-off cost of living Government measure are published on the www.Gov.ie. website.
Trinity Guidelines are as follows :
You selected to pay your full student contribution fee of €3,000 in full when registering for AY 2022/23 |

You selected to pay your fees by instalment when registering for AY 2022/23 and therefore have paid only 50% (€1,500) of your student contribution fee. |
|
You are availing of SUSI funding |
|
You have a loan with the Scottish Aid, Student Finance Northern Ireland & Student Loan Company to pay your student contribution for the AY 2022/23. |
|
You have been sponsored by a Trinity Approved Sponsor who is paying your student contribution for the AY 2022/23 in full (€3,000) |

Note
- If you are entitled to 50% free fees only, your €1,000 Government contribution is also to be proportionally adjusted.
- Refunds and credits applied are based on students’ HEA free fees eligibility status at 27th January 2023.
- If you do not receive either a credit/ refund by the 30th November 2022 and you are HEA free fees eligible, please email arfinanceforms@tcd.ie and add “€1,000 Budget 2023” on the email subject header and we will review this for you.
- Any refunds paid in error, will be recovered.
- If you selected to pay by instalment during registration, and subsequently paid your student contribution fee of €3,000 in full, please email arfinanceforms@tcd.ie and add “€1,000 Budget 2023” on the email subject header and we will review this for you.
