If you wish to post your thesis to us, please be aware that staff attendance in the AR is restricted so we may not be able to confirm receipt of same for some time.

Submission of Research Thesis

Intention to Submit Form (143 KB)
This form must be signed and dated by the candidate. If you are requesting someone other than yourself to submit your thesis on your behalf we must receive a “First Submission / Revised Submission” form signed by you and your delegate will be requested to sign also when they submit the work. This form is used for both first (softbound) submission and for subsequent softbound submission/s post initial examination.
When you have received confirmation from the Dean of Graduate Studies of your final result you will be requested to submit two hard bound copies of your thesis. These are also submitted to the Academic Registry Service Desk and a "Final submission" form will be presented to you for signature – this form requests that you confirm that what you are submitting is the final copy of the thesis.

Research Register
All postgraduate students who are undertaking a research degree in Trinity College Dublin are deemed to be on the research register. The specific degrees which fall into the research degree category are as follows:
- M.Litt
- M.Sc (by research)
- Ph.D
- M.D.
- M.A.I.
The regulations which govern students admission to, progression on, and examination on the research register are available in the University of Dublin Calendar Part III and all prospective and current students are strongly recommended to familiarise themselves with these.
Students who undertake a research project or dissertation as part of a taught postgraduate course (M.Phil; M.Sc) are not deemed to be on the research register and the regulations pertaining to taught postgraduate students apply to them.
