ID Card Services
Your ID card permits you access to College facilities and services including:
- Access to College libraries
- Borrowing from College libraries
- Entry to teaching / lab facilities
Access to some College services is dependent upon presentation of a valid ID card. Your card may also be required to gain admission to student facilities both on and off campus (e.g., the Sports Centre).
Lost or Stolen ID Cards
It is important that you report a lost or stolen card immediately to the Academic Registry so that precautions can be taken to ensure that your card is not used without your consent.
To report a lost or stolen ID card, please contact the Academic Registry through AskTCD by using the 'Log an Academic Registry Enquiry' button.
A student whose card has been lost, misplaced, stolen or damaged may seek a replacement from the Academic Registry Service Desk in the Watts Building. Replacement student I.D. cards cost €20. Student ID cards are issued during Service Desk opening hours (9AM-5PM, Monday to Friday). The Service Desk does not accept cash; you can pay this fee by debit/credit card or by Tcard.
The charge for the replacement card will be waived if the previous student I.D. has been stolen. The student must produce a Garda Síochána report verifying that the card has been reported stolen.
Failure to notify the Academic Registry about a lost or stolen card places the student at risk of serious allegations of collusion in the fraudulent use of the Trinity student ID card. Students who have reached 18 years of age and wish to obtain an updated identity card should return their current student ID card to the Academic Registry Service Desk.
