There are lots of opportunities to engage in volunteering with TAP. You might be a student, a Trinity alum, a staff member, a professional from the wider community, someone exploring a career in education, or just someone with some free time and an interest in doing something meaningful, worthwhile, and fun. In any case, there are numerous ways to get involved and support educational equality.
Who Can Volunteer?
We welcome supporters from all walks of life who are passionate about widening participation in higher education. The kind of help we need varies at different times of the year and how you can help might depend on your own skills, experience, and availability. Some examples of volunteering with TAP include:
Current Trinity Students: Act as mentors or student ambassadors to inspire the primary and secondary school students following in your footsteps.
Trinity Alumni: Share your career journey and professional insights with students from under-represented backgrounds.
Staff & Faculty: Provide academic guidance or support outreach initiatives within the university.
Corporate & Community Partners: Offer skills-based volunteering, workshops, or professional site visits.
Professionals or other Graduates: Support the delivery of our schools outreach programmes, or undergraduate events.
What would I do?
Volunteering with us goes far beyond the classroom. Sometimes we need quite specific skills. Other times we just need some extra sets of hands. Depending on your interests and availability, you could engage in:
Mentoring & Guidance: Sharing your skills and experience to support students as they navigate their educational paths.
Guest Speaking & Panels: Sharing your personal or professional story at TAP events and seminars.
Event Support: Assisting with our wide range of high-energy outreach programmes and summer schools.
Project-Based Volunteering: Contributing specific professional skills (e.g. writing, computer programming).
Where do I start?
If you would like to discuss how you could get involved, we would love to hear from you.
